WEEKLY REVIEW
Kyle- Despite starting two inactive players in his lineup, Kyle edged out Kendall this week with an unimpressive 64.8 points. Now 6-3, Kyle remains a game behind Trevor for first, but leads scoring at 101.3 PPG, a comfortable 6 PPG ahead of second place Brandon. Kyle still has the players to go the distance if he can wake up and set his lineup.
Riley- In a week where nearly everyone else faltered, Riley shined, scoring a week 9 high 114 points in a thriller over Bryce. After a few teams nosedived, Riley moved up to fourth in scoring and holds a two-game winning streak along with Kyle and Alex. Although not flashy, his lineup has been consistent, scoring over 110 each of the last two weeks. I am still skeptical of his team’s ability to make a deep run, but his high scoring wins have earned the respect of the Power Rankings.
Trevor- After losing to yours truly in week 8, Trevor should have lost this week in a pitiful shit show against Josh. Todd and Matt Ryan combined for 40.8 of Trevor’s 64.9 points, with four of his players scoring less than 2 points. At 7-2, Trevor miraculously holds the best record in the league, but it seems as if his time at the top has passed. He has not scored in the triple digits since week 4, and faces a stout Bryce lineup in week 10. Good news is he clinched a playoff spot, so he has 4 weeks to prepare for his run at the ship.
Alex- Jerry Jones is the gift that keeps on giving. Whoever he is bribing or blackmailing to keep Zeke on the field has done Alex a lot of favors, including handing him a win each of the last two weeks. At 6-3, Alex has all but secured his spot in playoffs, however with the impending suspension I do not like his chances. Facing Riley, Kyle, and Trevor in 3 of his last 4 weeks, Alex has a tough road to a high seed, and likely will fall before then. Better take care of Kendall then *eye emoji.
Bryce- A dark horse in this year’s race, Bryce lost in tragic Monday night fashion, despite scoring the second most points in week 9 with 104.9. After losing OBJ, Bryce has recovered well with some smart pickups, including a post trade A.D. and Jarvis Landry. Leading the middle pack in scoring, Bryce has key wins over his playoff competition including Alex, Kendall, Julian, and myself. The last two playoff spots are anyone’s for the taking, but with a game lead and a lot of tie breakers I predict Bryce finds his way in.
Brandon- The fall from grace continues. After falling to last place Julian, Brandon’s two game skid has landed him smack in the middle of the pack, fighting for a spot in the playoffs. With a torrent of bye weeks against Josh, his chances of winning are slim to none and I expect him to fall to 4-6. While still manageable, Brandon would need to pick up 2 of his last 3 to make playoffs, facing Bryce, Trevor, and Kendall respectively. Maybe if he made some “reasonable” trades before the deadline it would help him out.
Jack- I always get self-conscious moving myself up the rankings so let me know if I am wrong. I have had the pleasure of averaging 100.6 PPG over the last two weeks with a win over Trevor and a close loss to Alex. With Kendall on the horizon for week 10, I have the fortune of going through all three roommates to end the regular season. I have to win at least three of them, so fingers crossed.
Julian- Dubbing Brandon with a solid 90.4 points, Julian moves to 3-6 to keep things interesting for everyone. Keep in mind, Julian has two wins over Brandon and one over myself, two of the six teams he needs to beat out for a spot. Facing a full-strength Kyle squad in week 10, the road looks tough for Juju, but he has proven time and again that he can beat anyone. Keep your eyes on the prize and trust the process.
Josh- I still can’t really figure out Josh’s team. Ranking him this low feels wrong, yet I have to go by the stats. Also on a two-game skid, Josh scored 56.2 points this week with a full lineup in play. To be fair, Josh was missing Leveon and a pair of receivers he might not have started anyways, but a weak performance nonetheless. With a guaranteed win in week 10, Josh has a good shot at making the playoffs if he can beat 2 of Julian, Bryce, and myself. At some point his talented roster will show up, but it could be too little too late.
Kendall- Kendall I am genuinely sorry for what happened this week. That was a tough loss to a good team and it happens to all of us. Going forward, having Tom Brady back in week 10 will be a plus and with the only significant bye being Amari Cooper he is not in too bad of shape. Under the same circumstances as the rest of the 3-6 bunch, Kendall needs to win 3 of his last 4 to be considered for a spot. In what is essentially a “loser goes home” matchup against me, week 10 will be decisive for Marky Mark and the Brady Bunch.
