WEEKLY REVIEW

Josh- After scoring over 130 points for the second week in a row, Josh defeated Brandon to advance to a historic 9-1 record. Although his RBs faltered with a combined 15.7 points, a combination of his WRs and Zach Ertz’s 33.5 points picked up the slack. Josh has been on an unprecedented tear, winning seven in a row and only one win away from having the best record all time. He has continued to build his team through trades and active waiver pickups and has managed to stay on top. Josh is far and away the best team in the League, but fortunately it only takes one RB in playoffs to turn the tables.

Jack- After disappointing performances from just about everyone on my roster, I scored 98.3 points in a losing effort to Kendall. As upset as I am that I lost, the irony of losing to Kendall twice out of three times somewhat makes up for it. I was hoping to push Josh for best record, but my chances have unfortunately diminished. With Kyle, Josh, and Riley on the horizon, it is not likely that I will make it through the Traditions Gauntlet unphased.

Kyle- Although Josh is the best team, Kyle has the hottest one right now, scoring 130.1 and 139.9 in back-to-back wins to move onto 6-4. Getting some huge days from Tevin Coleman and Nick Chubb, Kyle’s team has solidified its place in the playoff picture. Relying on explosive performances has been successful recently, but he also has had four players score in single digits each of the last two weeks. I am not sure that this level of scoring will be sustainable, but with the emerging talent on his roster, his team will only get better heading into the post-season.

Trevor- After a three-game losing streak, Trevor edged out Bryce in a close 136.8-125.6 contest to get to 5-5 on the season. After a great start to the year, Trevor’s recent performance has been disappointing, but his week ten W shows that his lineup is still capable of putting up numbers on any given week. Yet to make any significant changes to his roster, Trevor’s tactic has been enough to put him in fourth place thus far. However, losing to 4-6 Alex this week could be enough to move him outside of playoffs. I am excited to see what Trevor’s team has in store for us going forward.

Brandon- Despite losing to Josh in week ten, Brandon scored a solid 117 points led by 25 from Melvin Gordon and 29.2 from Tyreek Hill. Brandon has averaged 125.1 over the last two weeks but he still sits at 4-6, hanging onto the sixth seed in the playoffs. Still fourth in scoring, Brandon holds a tie-breaker advantage over most of the teams on the bubble, but a win against 4-6 Bryce in week eleven will be crucial if he wants a guaranteed spot. With T.Y. Hilton and Marlon Mack joining his Kansas City duo this week, I could see Brandon’s lineup overwhelming Bryce’s and showing how dangerous it can be.

Riley- Failing to score 100 points two weeks in a row, Riley slipped to Alex this week and fell to 5-5 on the year. Currently holding the fifth seed behind Trevor, Riley’s team has had a lot of ups and downs leading up to this point. Brees, Mixon, and Kelce have been solid, but otherwise his lineup has been riddled with boom and bust players that have contributed to a wide range of scores week-to-week. Facing an improved Kendall squad in week eleven, bye weeks for Kenny Stills and Isaiah Crowell put some pressure on Riley’s waiver pickups to perform. With his erratic scoring, Riley could easily play spoiler in a week one playoff matchup, but he has to make sure he gets in first.

Kendall- Kendall secured the season sweep over yours truly in week ten, scoring 112.6 points to improve to 4-6 and eighth in the league. The third man in the four team pack at 4-6, Kendall has an opportunity against Riley in week eleven to catapult himself into the post-season. With the addition of James Conner and retaining a strong WR core of Brandin Cooks and Adam Thielen, Kendall’s new look roster has the potential to be dangerous for the rest of the season. Maybe I am speaking from personal experience, but Kendall is not a team I would want to run into in the last couple of weeks, or playoffs.

Bryce- Start a kicker and maybe you would have beaten Trevor.

Alex- In the underwhelming matchup of week ten, Alex defeated Riley 100.7-91.3 behind 33.7 points from Zeke and relatively disappointing performances from everyone else. With the win, Alex improves to 4-6 on the season, but I do not feel that his record reflects the quality of his team. At eighth in scoring (only 0.2 PPG ahead of Julian), Alex has not shown a propensity to perform week in and week out. Instead, he has waited for his opponents to falter and taken advantage. Of course, if this happened every week, he could have a ship on POSThis hands, but in a highly competitive year this is not likely to happen. I see Alex playing spoiler and sneaking into the first round if he gets lucky.

Julian- Although recent outings have not reflected this, Julian has made a substantial amount of roster improvements that have changed the structure of his lineup. Acquiring Julio Jones from myself via Kendall and the explosion of Aaron Jones onto the fantasy scene has raised his PPG and made him competitive each of the last three weeks. At 2-8, it seems that it is too little too late for Julian’s playoff hopes, but with the opportunity to shake up the standings and build his roster for next year, I still expect him to have quite an impact going forward.
